What is an E-2 Visa?
The E-2 Visa is a temporary (or nonimmigrant) U.S. visa allowing investors from over 80 treaty countries to develop and direct their E-2 investments. Nationals of countries with whom the U.S. has a treaty qualify, even if they were born in a country with whom the U.S. does not enjoy a treaty. More on the E-2 visa here.
“Is there a E-2 visa pathway for investors who want to make a substantial investment and develop and direct an operating U.S. investment, without spending the countless ‘sweat equity’ hours a traditional E-2 business requires?“
Carolyn Lee (2019)
What is a “hybrid solution”?
Back in 2019, our Principal and Founder, Carolyn Lee, a renowned EB-5 attorney, asked herself if there was an alternative E-2 visa pathway, and our team spent the following 18 months researching E-2 law and working with highly reputable U.S. fund managers to develop an E-2 visa structure blending the attributes of EB-5 visas with E-2 visas. We call this structure our “hybrid E-2 visas.”
Earlier this month, Carolyn Lee hosted an Investment Immigration Conversations session dedicated to the E-2 visa hybrid. If you missed it or want a recap, we invite you to watch the recording and email us your follow-up questions!
