USCIS Postpones December 29, 2022 Filing Deadline for Form I-956 and I-956G

Dec 24, 2022

USCIS postpones the thorny question — “To G or Not to G” — by issuing an alert extending the filing deadline for the I-956 and the I-956G.

According to the USCIS website: “Dec. 29, 2022, is no longer the deadline to file Form I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation, amendments, as required by the Behring Settlement, and Form I-956G, Regional Center Annual Statement. USCIS is extending this deadline until we publish guidance that clarifies the requirements of these forms.”

This decision wisely acknowledges the many open questions which prompted a CLP FAQ, which we, too, were about to further refine. We will postpone that ourselves pending the guidance to come.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year from all of us at CLP.
