Happy President’s Day! A few notes to start your EB-5 week on an informed footing.
EB-5 Reauthorization to 9/30/2019
On Friday, February 15, 2019, President Trump signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019, funding the EB-5 Regional Center Program to September 30, 2019.
The EB-5 Regional Center Program was extended along with the three other temporary immigration programs historically extended together – the E-Verify program, the Religious Worker program, and the “Conrad 30” program for doctors in shortage areas.
The day before, the Senate passed the bill by an 83-16 vote. The House approved the bill by a 300-128 vote. The full text of the bill is here.
The March 2019 Visa Bulletin shows final action dates of 08SEPT2014 for China and 15JUL2017 for Vietnam. All other countries, including India, are “C” for current. But that is expected to change very soon, at least for India. Keep a watch on monthly Visa Bulletins here.
A Great Article
For excellent analyses of a topic of acute interest to all of us, see Suzanne Lazicki’s blog “FY2018 EB-5 Visas By Country.” Everything you want to understand about recent visa trends is there along with nifty graphs and spreadsheet data. (Suzanne, are you giving Excel lessons anytime soon?)
Lots of good news to report on EB-5. Regional centers are creating jobs and repaying principal to investors. These regional centers include CanAm, NYCRC, and EB5 Capital. Congratulations to the EB-5 investors and families and kudos to the Regional Centers!

Last but not least, something old (yet somehow still smashing), something new. I’ve formed my own EB-5 firm! Welcome. The EB-5 Program has been a U.S. job creating engine as the U.S. Department of Commerce confirms. And it’s and poised for bigger and better. I’m investing in EB-5.
